Questions

Is it free, and do I need an account?

Free, and there is no account to make. Nothing on this site asks who you are, and there is nothing to install.

Where do the problems come from?

They are generated. Each skill has a small program behind it that builds a problem and its answer from the same numbers, so the key cannot drift from the sheet. 339 skills, 996 sets, and a fresh set every time you press New set.

Can I give my class the same sheet?

Yes — press Copy assignment link. The set is written into the part of the address after the #, so everyone who opens that link gets those exact problems. That part of an address is never sent to a server, which is also why nothing you type here leaves your browser.

Does it print properly?

Yes. The printed sheet drops the menus, the buttons and the advertising, leaves a name and date line at the top, and puts the answer key on a page of its own.

What does "grade 4" mean here?

It is our judgement about where a skill usually sits, printed so you can disagree with it. We do not reproduce anybody’s standards and we do not claim to follow one; use the band that fits the class in front of you.

Why does a wrong answer explain itself?

Because "incorrect" teaches nothing. Every problem knows the specific wrong answers it invites — a dropped carry, a subtraction done smaller-from-larger, numerators and denominators added separately — and says which one happened.
